How do I manually enter GPS coordinates in the mapping services?

Both Appraise-It Street Maps and Appraise-It Flood Maps allow you to enter your own GPS coordinates for addresses. This can be useful for newer addresses that have not yet been added to the geolocation databases used by our services, or for rural areas where precise GPS coordinates are unknown. You can use a handheld GPS device on-site when performing your inspection to record coordinates, or use a website like iTouchMap to attempt a lookup of your addresses' GPS coordinates.

Note that Street Maps and Flood Maps use different geolocation services. If your subject address is accurate in Street Maps but inaccurate in Flood Maps, you can use the coordinates provided by Street Maps in Flood Maps. To do so:

1. With your report open in Appraise-It, go to Services ⇨ Appraise-It Street Maps.

Street Maps - Get Map
2. Verify the subject marker is located correctly (adjusting if necessary), then click back to the Addresses tab.

3. Make a note of the subject's latitude and longitude coordinates, and use them in step 3 of the instructions below. You can also open Flood Maps and switch between Flood and Street Maps to copy and paste the coordinates. To copy and paste each coordinate, select the coordinate in the Street Maps display, tap "CTRL+C" on your keyboard or right-click and select Copy, then click in the corresponding field in Flood Maps' GPS entry fields and tap "CTRL+V" or right-click and select Paste.
