How do I perform a clean reinstall of Appraise-It?

To ensure that none of Appraise-It's files and folders are corrupt or out-of-date on your computer, it may be necessary to perform what is known as a "clean" reinstall of Appraise-It.

Automated
Go to This location , and Download and run Clean_Install_SFREP. If prompted, click Yes; when the process finishes, click OK.

If you are still experiencing problems with your software, please contact Technical Support.

Manual
1. Open your C: drive and select the TRA folder.
2. Right-click on it and select Rename; type "TRAbak" and hit "Enter".
3. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files. If you do not see a Program Files (x86) folder, go to C:\Program Files\Common Files.*
4. Find and delete the SFREP folder. Do not delete or change any other folders in Common Files, or Common Files itself. Doing so could result in serious problems with your operating system or other software.
5. Reinstall Appraise-It.

  • If you receive a message during the install stating "The system cannot find the path specified", click the No To All button.

6. If you use Photograph-It Plus, copy the REP2000.BAS file from C:\TRAbak to C:\TRA.
7. If you have added custom words to your spellcheck dictionary, copy any files that share your first name from C:\TRAbak\TRA32 to C:\TRA\TRA32. (Custom dictionary files are named after their users; for example, John Smith's custom dictionary file would be C:\TRAbak\TRA\John.adu.)

If you are still experiencing problems with your software, please contact Technical Support.

* The Program Files (x86) folder will only exist on 64-bit operating systems. If you do not see one, you are running a 32-bit operating system. SFREP supports both 32- and 64-bit operating systems.
